Cultural appropriation? No, it’s Hime Curry!
This was a fun and lovely episode. Also pretty cool since a long-time Aikatsu staffer wrote their very first script. Next week may or may not be late due to me being away for the holiday.
I for one am all for lighthearted episodes
This might have been the funniest episode of Aikatsu Stars ever. Also, if you pay close attention, it seems that Yume corrected Rei’s speech from last week. Thinking about it logically, Rei messed up a line. Compare them and you’ll see what I mean.
PS: Remember to kindly not post spoilers of future episodes in the comments.
My own clone?!
Happy Halloween! Just a note—there’s this untranslatable pun in the middle where they turn 組 (gumi) into グミ (gumi), so that Song Class becomes Song Gummy and so on. Also, I guess Lily felt like naming the person she was quoting for the first time in the entire series?
She reminds me of Fuwari here. Or maybe Maria
You claim to be experts, Aikatsu, and yet you can’t even get a single scientific name of a flower correct? The Humilis Alba Coerulea Ocula should actually end in Oculata. How can I ever trust anything I learn from you again?
Also, this episode’s keikaku levels were off the charts.
Fairies: Actual size
There’s something really special about the first episode of a new half-season, not to mention something special about the ridiculous workload it entails to do. I suppose you could say this episode marked a new start line, and made sure the viewers knew it. If you want to see that for sure, I’d suggest comparing this episode to any from the very beginning of Stars, particularly the opening. Aria is a lovely girl, although it would be difficult to expect otherwise from her name. I hope you do enjoy this episode with a smile, just as I did (particularly the first few seconds of the new OP for me).
P.S. Today/tomorrow, October 8th, marks the actual 5th anniversary of Aikatsu. Thank you for these five years!
This is a high-level metaphor for Koharu having dominance over Mahiru
And here’s our yearly tradition, the off time at someone’s house to finish off the first half and lead into the new character of the second half. In tradition there is both comfort as well as flexibility to make something unique, and they’ve nailed it.
I wonder which is the father and which is the mother
Gonna be honest, I was kind of worried about the episode during the first half, but the second half and performance blew those clouds away. Impossible rainbow aside (the sun needs to be behind you to see a rainbow), I’m going to borrow the words of a fan on Kirakiratter and say you must absolutely watch the CG this episode. The depth of expression, the little touches put into the audience, and even the song itself reminding me of Melody of the Heart blew me away. What an absolute pleasure it was.
