As promised, the AA segments from the first seven episodes that we were missing from our encodes. It’s pretty short, but kind of entertaining. Now featuring good™ typesetting.

Alright, continuing on with the Otome saga. Haven’t got too much to say about the episode, but I do have a few announcements. Next week’s Christmas episode will unfortunately be delayed for an unknown amount of time. However, there’s going to be some sort of special leading up to it, so look forward to that alongside the episode. Also, we’ll be using that time to finish up the Aikatsu Aphorism segments of the first 7 episodes, which will all be released together.

Headaches all over this episode. That’s the last time I try to typeset something so horrible. Hopefully those two seconds won’t look too bad. Oh, and physics lesson: rainbows always appear the correct way (red on outside) unless there’s a double rainbow, in which case the upside-down one will be above the first.

Edit: Upon reviewing the final episode, I’ve realized that I made a horrible mistake. I’ll reflect upon my awful typesetting abilities.
God, this episode was an unbelievable amount of trouble to do, despite being the fastest translation yet. At least it was worth it all in the end. I’ll just let you all enjoy it. Japanese Protip: ichi = one, hoshi = star, otome = maiden.

Oh yeah, and there have been several comments on whether we’re going to keep at this now that it seems there’ll be 50 episodes. The answer is: yes, absolutely. Look forward to the next year. Also, there are decreasingly many DDLs now that the HelloKitty bot hosts our releases, so we’re stopping that for now.
Alright, yet another new idol! It might just be me, but the coolness levels seemed to skyrocket this episode for some reason.
And the notes: 1) If you don’t know, yakiniku is Japanese grilled meat, usually beef or pork of some sort. 2) Ageha is Japanese for swallowtail butterfly (actually relevant). 3) The Aikatsu Aphorism segment at the end was apparently done every episode, but we’ve just been coincidentally missing out on them in our raws. Hope you’ll forgive us, and we’ll see what we can do about getting the missing ones.

Yes, the long awaited OP/ED single is finally out! Go and enjoy the full versions of the songs. We take no credit for the upload.

Moving right along, we’re getting more and more insight into the trials and tribulations of becoming an idol. Notes this week include: 1) Purikura is what Ran said at the beginning, which we changed to photo booth. If you haven’t heard of them, it’s that thing where you take a few pictures, and can then edit them with words, sparkles, or even to change your hair color or eye size. 2) When Ran visits Ichigo’s room, she says いらっしゃいませ! (irasshaimase), generally a greeting reserved for when you enter a restaurant or shop, hence Aoi’s remark. 3) If you don’t know anything about the actual Aikatsu! arcade game, check out the post below. When they talk about “appeal points”, they’re referring to the numbers in the corner of the cards. If you match the cards correctly within the cute, cool, and sexy categories, the points stack and help you win your audition.
Edit: You might notice at about 15.07 a tiny little mistake in the line being said. Please ignore it for now; we’ll fix it for the batch. No plans for a version 2 because it isn’t a mistranslation-type error, just something we forgot to take out.
So as I was looking around for more Aikatsu things, I happened to run across the official Aikatsu! TV Youtube channel. It’s got a few promo vids, a summary of the press conference explaining the game, and, most surprisingly, several endorsements by my favorite AKB48 idol, Itano Tomomi. They even put in a character model for her in the game. It’s kind of interesting if you just can’t wait until the next episode, and it gives a few teasers for outfits, songs, and new modes that’ll be in the anime.
