I’m enjoying all the screentime Kazumi’s getting, but it just makes me feel like she’s about to be majorly sidelined. Well, at least she’ll be needed for her Dutch oversetting.

There was some goddamn A+ tier voice work by Otome this episode. By the way, you might notice some inconsistencies in this episode, specifically the fact that Otome was retconned into calling everyone with the “tan” suffix (she only started that after a while, check the 1-50 batch post for the exact episode). Also, I only noticed that Makoto is voiced by a certain Miki Shinichirou this episode. If you don’t recognize him by name (I sure don’t), then perhaps you should ask yourself if this episode was entirely a lie, and if something can’t surpass the original just because it’s a fake. Interesting info for next episode after the break.

Grani is some horse in Norse mythology somewhat connected to Brynhildr. It’s pronounced in such a way as to suggest that it should be “Grane”, but we spelled it “Grani” to be consistent with “Brynhildr” (the Brynhildr in the title is closer to Brunhilde — you either use Brynhildr/Grani or Brunhilde/Grane).
Kojo no Tsuki (荒城の月) means “Moon over the Ruined Castle” and is a song from like, a long time ago. It’d be like an American singing Camptown Races at karaoke.

Episode 82: Torrent
So, as some of you may have heard, they finally decided to release BDs for Aikatsu S1! They’re selling them as two boxes costing ¥28,944 each (around 285$ currently) and will feature 4 discs per box for all 50 episodes of S1 in total. They’ll be coming out on the 5th November 2014 and 3rd February 2015. I’d totally go ahead and preorder them right now, but I’m so broke I can’t even pay for my server next month.
Anyway, there’s more! A really nice someone (again, thanks a lot!) uploaded the first S2 BDMV and will continue with atleast the second volume, so we’ll make sure BD releases will happen eventually in the near future! I hope you’re all ready for some glorious high quality performances.

In BUMP OF CHICKEN’s song 天体観測 (also the title of this episode), the singer sings about how in his obsession with looking at the stars, he overlooks the girl on Earth next to him. I guess this is kinda like that.
Also, about star magnitudes. Apparently stars are sometimes categorized by their brightness into categories with numbers. It’s a log scale, though, so it’s not like Vega is cheating to be magnitude zero. In fact, the scale they’re probably using is calibrated using Vega to be zero.
