Ichigos, strawberries, etc. You know the drill.

Ichigos, strawberries, etc. You know the drill.

Arg, my first draft of this was erased.  Anyway, we finally get silver hair from the OP we’ve been waiting for.  So here’s the one potential note: gap moe.  If you don’t know what that is, it’s basically the moe you feel in response to the dissonance between how you expect a person to be and how he/she actually is (such as a delinquent actually having a soft spot for small animals).  Anyway, enjoy your gap.

"Oh ho, why not whore ourselves?"

“Oh ho, why not whore ourselves?”

>mfw no Valentine's chocolate

>mfw no Valentine’s chocolate

I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself but post both of these images. I hope you’ll forgive my insolence.  And so, please enjoy your Valentine’s Day gift, because Madoka knows you won’t be getting anything else this Thursday.

Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru – 06

Even the worst character can get a blog screenshot…

Sigh, half of this episode’s dialogue made no sense because they cut out like, half the lines from the novel…

Also, in case you didn’t realize, here are the roots behind the names of the first three Be My Angels:

The first one, Ayanami Asuka, is Ayanami Rei + Asuka Langley from Evangelion. The seiyuu’s name is also formed from the name of the seiyuus for those two characters (Hayashibara Megumi + Miyamura Yuuko = Hayashibara Yuuko).

Similarly, the second one, Tsukino Rei, is Tsukino Usagi (Sailor Moon) + Hino Rei (Sailor Mars). The seiyuu is Mitsuishi Kotono + Tomizawa Michie = Mitsuishi Michie.

The third one is Daidouji Tomoyo + Kinomoto Sakura = Daidouji Sakura. The seiyuu is Iwao Junko + Tange Sakura = Iwao Sakura. (I didn’t have to look anything up for this one! I feel so … proud?)

I don’t think the fourth and fifth have other-media inspirations.

Avoiding spoilers is hard :(

Avoiding spoilers is hard 🙁

Right then, onwards to part two of the special Ichigo/Mizuki concert.  Apparently I had already figured out the big reveal in this episode and then forgotten all about it at some point, but I’m pretty sure I just completely missed it (and it’s not as if there were a huge amount of clues anyway). Either way, enjoy another climax episode— I know I did.

Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru – 05

Rooftop Confessions

I have to wonder if there’s a way to get on top of that taller part of the building…

Okay, so here’s an episode.

Torrent: Episode 05

And here are TL notes (with spoilers… sort of):

1) When Masuzu calls Chiwa a cat/chihuahua thief, that’s wordplay with 泥棒猫 (dorobou-neko), which literally means “thief cat”, but also means “someone who steals other people’s lovers from behind their backs”. Except Chiwa’s sort of a Chihuahua (and sort of a cat).

2) In middle-school Eita’s description of his four guardian angels, he says “Be. My. Angel-tachi.” In the light novel, this is written 美・舞・天使. 美 (which means “beauty”) can be pronounced “bi”, and 舞 (which means “dance”) can be pronounced “mai”. So it’s like… sort of a pun.

3) When Masuzu is in the nurse’s office after the pool thing, she apologizes for her off-putting behavior. In the novel, she apologizes for her behavior “yesterday”, while in the anime, she apologizes for her behavior “today”. Both work, but it’s weird.

4) Chuuni (or chuu2) is um, a thing. Read about it here.

Hello, operator? I think I've lost it.

Hello, operator? I think I’ve lost it.

Oh man, it’s finally our first plot spanning two whole episodes.  After watching, if you think this episode’s idoling was good, you can bet next week’s will be even better. I can’t even imagine what sort of things lie on the other side of this concert.  Let’s tanoshimi, bitches.

And oh yeah, I don’t think we actually mentioned this yet, but we finally have an xdcc bot of our own, generously donated by Yuyu.  It goes by the name of Kotoura-chan, and can be found on our irc channel #[email protected]

What’s the sound of best girl winning?

Well, this one sure was uh… exciting. Masuzu uses both the short and long form of the club’s name as normal words (as opposed to as the club’s name) several times this episode, and since our translation of the club’s name (both full and short) were made slightly awkward to keep the pun-thing, some of the instances in which she uses the words in this episode are translated “normally”.
